My project on Leonardo da Vinci by Sadhbh

I think I could have been Leonardo's apprentice.
My Mona is not far off,I tryed to copy it as best as I could and I added a few of my own pieces hee hee

this is Mona Lisa, there was a mistake on the spelling, it should have been 'Monna' which means 'Madonna' in Italian which also means 'my lady'.

This is my project.

This is Leonardo's house & the amazing thing is that it's still here today! Its in Vinci in Italy. Thats how Leonardo got his name. Da means from in Italian. His name was Leonardo Di Ser Piero da Vinci.

these are all the book's I used for my project, my fave is the one at the very bottom Leonardo da Vinci by usborne young reading. I like this book because it has lots of pictures and it shows you maps of where he has been. What I really like is that it shows you how he wrote back to front. Its a story but it has lots of facts and pictures of his inventions and paintings and how he got started.
When he was 14 he became an apprentice of Andrea di Cione but was known as Verrocchio which means 'true eye'. Verrocchio told him at the end of his time with him 'always finish what you start'. He told him this because Leonardo would always leave his paintings unfinished because he did small strokes with his paint brush which would take very long and then he would get bored very quickly and want to do something else.

I enjoyed this project very much.

this is the parts of Leonardo's child hood village.
it is still the same today.

I did this project on Leonardo da Vinci because I think he was really cool and he is an amazing artist. And he new things before they were even invented.
He loved doing paintings and inventing things.
During wars he didnt mind what side he was working for just as long as they listened to his ideas and let him make them.
In 1519 Leonardo da Vinci died at the age of 67 in France.

  2. It is important to appreciate what historical context DiVinci lived in and also to understand his legacy. Photographs were well choosen, the script good and I think we may have a new Celtic Renaissance Scholar in the making. Well done Miss Sadhbh.

From your admiring Uncle. Now Miss Caoimhe, where is your project????
