Castletown house...

To make the return to school somewhat more enjoyable we decided to take the girls and our homeschool friends on the tour of Castletown House in Celbridge in Kildare.
Much to our dismay we were not permitted to take any photos once inside the house
this light is from inside the restaurant, as Aideen said it was awesome.....
I couldnt resist this picture of our happy snapper!

This is one of the wings on the way in to the house, were the tour begins

Martina finally realising I was taking her photo!

The tour took just under an hour, the house was built around 1720 by William Connolly. The house was past to his nephew Tom and Lady Louisa Lennox.

this is the front of the house and during the summer they open the doors and let and a band are playing in the entrance hall

the three amigos!

We walked through the grounds once the rain stopped and the sun broke through the clouds.

We even found some chestnuts

yes...we are homeschooling Momas!

back to school....

Art was the theme of our back to school day.
A very relaxing ease back in to homeschool
We made sunshine handprints...
We had all types of
styles and colours

this was the last flower
in the garden and
Sadhbh liked the
colour and painted her
prints a similar shade

the girls spent ages
mixing colours

quite a collection
of handprints!

and now we
have are very
own
sunshine.....hands!

to go with
our sunshine
hands the
girls wrote
up what the
knew about
the sun.

Caoimhe finished
quite quickly
and decided to
finish her letter
to her penpal
in South Africa

A nice easy day
with an afternoon
trip to our
homeschool friends
