oceans sharks and jellyfish oh my!

After showing my girls Sadhbh and Caoimhe a friends blog they couldn't wait to do the same, thanks Martina!

Well one of the best projects that my girls did was an ocean scene. We had been busy reading all about habitats, and the girls just finished writing it up when they decided to make a model of it. Well it turned out great, they even included the Mariana trench! This project took the week, Caoimhe thought the sun shined all the way to the bottom of the ocean..bless. She took out half the sharks and jellyfish because she didn't like them, I suppose its the only ocean she could pick and choose its inhabitants! They had so many questions, why is the ocean blue, where does the salt come from, the best was the worms around the hydrothermal vents, they can grow to around 12ft oooey!
You know its easy to forget as an adult how amazed we were as children to find out something new. and all it took to remind me was to get stuck in with my girls and find another use for an aldi box! We had no glue so we made it with flour and water, I always have thread and usually every colour and we found the perfect blue, even broken pipe cleaners worked for seaweed. I really enjoyed doing this project it was messy and fun. The Rain forest will be an experience!
